Investiere in Klassiker
Invest in classics
If you are not a member of the Saudi royal house or the Kardashian Clan you have to think twice what to spend your money for. When it comes to clothes and accessoires my advice is to spend more on timeless classics, and less on trend pieces.
But what exactly is a „timeless classic“ in fashion? These are pieces that stay trendy from season to season. Pieces whose names even sometimes stand for the products itselves (Who doesn’t think of the famous pilot shades when hearing „Ray Ban“?). Famous evergreens, fashionistas have longed for for years, are for example the Burberry trenchcoat, the Chanel 2.55 bag or the Max Mara camelhair coat.
But also newer it-pieces are developing into real classics. So you are never wrong with a Woolrich parka for quite some winter seasons, at festivals you see frequently Hunter wellies and the Céline-trapeze-bag stays hot as ever.
To keep up to date with fashion you can of course not only rely on classics. Although a high quality classic will always enhance a low-budget-outfit. And these products are not evergreens without a reason. You can combine them with new trend pieces in lots of different ways. A black Chanel 2.55 goes with a business costumes just as well a with a indie summer dress, the Acne pistol boot you can wear with skinny jeans or with a hippie festival outfit and the Tod’s loafers don’t have to be stuffy but are together with a destroyed denim really cool.
Considering the constant price rises, as e.g. recently at Chanel or Louis Vuitton, most of the classics are real investments. I think that some evergreens will move into my closet over the years. What about you? Do you have a favorite?
See you soon
